Chevrolet S10 Power Steering Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Power Steering Hose on Chevrolet S10?
A: The first step to replace the power steering return hose requires air cleaner assembly removal while setting up a drain pan under the vehicle. The installation method starts with disconnecting the power steering return hose from the Power Steering Pump in vehicles without a Power Steering Cooler and disconnecting the power steering gear return hose from the Power Steering Cooler if it is equipped with one. The procedure starts with uninstalling the wiring harness clip from the power steering return hose at the power steering gear before disconnecting the power steering gear return hose from the power steering gear and finally removing the power steering gear return hose from the vehicle. First install the power steering gear return hose to the vehicle while attaching it to the power steering gear before torquing it to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Reposition the wiring harness clip onto the power steering return hose near the power steering gear followed by attaching the power steering gear return hose to the equipped Power Steering Cooler while tightening the clamp to 2 nm (18 inch lbs.). The Power Steering Pump hose should be connected to the power steering gear through a 2 nm (18 inch lbs.) clamp tightening. After draining the pan you should install the air cleaner assembly before bleeding the power steering system.
