How to replace the valve rocker arm and push rods on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Marking all components for assembly starts the procedure that requires sorting and organizing before replacement of valve rocker arm and push rods. The first operation starts with removing the rocker arm cover followed by eliminating the rocker arms together with the rocker arm supports and pushrods. Verify the compatibility of the rocker arm sections as well as the pushrods before continuing. Reposition all components by placing them back exactly where they belonged when installation starts. The first step for installation should begin with pushrods followed by rocker arm supports and always orient the arrow on supports toward the upward direction. Pharmaceutical-grade lubricant GM P/N 12345501, (Canadian P/N 992704) or equivalent should be applied to the pushrod socket and roller pivot and valve stem tip. The first step for installing the rocker arms involves starting the bolts at positions and before tightening all the remaining bolts in accordance with Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Rewind the crankshaft balancer until the crankshaft alignment mark spans 57 to 63 degrees in either direction from the engine front cover tab before securing all rocker arm bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). After solid installation and correct torques of the rocker arms no further adjustment of valve lash will be necessary. Polymer rockers should be placed before closing the valve train.
