To change the rear brake hose, first, lift and support the vehicle. Clean all the dirt and foreign materials from the brake hose and the brake pipe fittings. Install a rubber cap or plug on to the exposed brake pipe fitting end to avoid loss and contamination of the brake fluid. Remove the hose fitting from brake pipe fitting by using a back up wrench (extend and cap or plug) the brake pipe fitting end. Take off the brake hose retaining clip from hose mounting bracket and remove the jounce hose from the bracket. Once again, a rubber cap or plug the exposed brake pipe ends to avoid brake fluid loss and contamination and then remove the rear brake pipe from the junction block of the rear axle and cap or plug the brake pipe ends. Remove bolt of retaining junction block from axle and remove brake hose from vehicle. For installation, align the reverse brake hose and screw the junction block retaining bolt to the axle as tight to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.). Remove the rear brake pipes, and attach the other side to the junction block of the axle and tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (n 18 ft. lbs.). Be sure that a hose is not twisted and does not touch any suspension components when installing the hose into bracket. Install the jounce hose retaining clip and remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end and connect the brake pipe fitting nut to the brake hose using a back up wrench on the hose fitting without bending the bracket or the pipe and tight it to the 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Make sure that the hose does not touch any elements of suspension; if it does, remuve hose and correct. Finally, bleed the hydraulic brake system and bring down the vehicle.
