The beginning point of front park brake cable replacement begins with freeing the applied park brake and removing the park brake lever assembly. The maintenance process requires a vehicle lift combined with rear propeller shaft removal. The left and right rear park brake cables need to be detached from the front cable in succession. The park brake cable release tool (J37043) should be installed on the front park brake cable before removing the cable from its retaining bracket. Apply tape that maintains parallel alignment between the equalizer and brake cable before lowering the vehicle down. Make another cable removal using j37043 park brake cable release tool at the front park brake cable to extract the bracket. Proceed to take out the floor seal which sits on the floor panel. Obestructive installation requires placing the front brake cable into the floor panel while making sure that the floor seal properly settles into position to avoid leakage. Raising the vehicle allows you to install the front park brake cable into its retaining bracket. Repeat the process by connecting the right rear brake cable to the equalizer then the left rear brake cable. The vehicle needs to be lowered with the rear propeller shaft reinstated before completing the process by installing the front brake cable into its respective retainer and park brake lever assembly.
