Begin by lowering the endgate next to step by step bolt loosening on the handle followed by raising the endgate. Move the handle bezel through careful pressure on the upper tabs until the linkage rods detach. Support the gate downwards before you take out the cables that pass through the bolt which holds the latch assembly and the side panel cable retainer bolts. Pull the linkage rod off the latch assembly before taking out the latch assembly from the endgate. Installation requires engagements of the linkage rod to the latch assembly followed by latch installation to the vehicle while observing Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Fasten the latch assembly bolts at 25 N.m (18 lb ft) torque. Attach endgate cable links to side panel retainer bolts while engaging the linkage rods then hoist the endgate into position afterward placing the bezel and torqueing handle bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
