Chevrolet Tracker Hood Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the hood latch on Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Cables must first be raised in place before installing the hood primary latch. The front upper panel holds two bolts that secure the hood primary latch. After unscrewing those bolts you can detach the hood primary latch release cable from the hood primary latch allowing you to take the latch out of the vehicle. After connecting the hood primary latch release cable with the hood primary latch you will install the latch onto the vehicle and tighten its 2 retaining bolts only loosely. Follow the body front end adjustment specifications to adjust the hood primary latch until it meets two requirements: the striker shaft should connect with the center groove of the hood primary latch while the hood rests smoothly against the front fenders. Finish by securing the bolts that hold the Hood Latch into position while tightening them to 10 nm (89 lb in). Lower the hood afterward.
