Chevrolet Traverse Power Steering Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Power Steering Hose on Chevrolet Traverse?
A: The process of replacing the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose begins by removing the right front frontwards wheelhouse liner. Place drain pans under the vehicle according to need. The mechanic should first loosen the Power Steering Cooler pipe clamp and then disconnect the Power Steering Cooler pipe from the power steering fluid cooler. The replacement process requires removal of the power steering gear outlet hose bracket bolt while also discarding the power steering gear outlet hose clamp. First separate the Power Steering Cooler pipe from the power steering gear outlet hose (4,3) while removing all plastic retaining clips from the Power Steering Cooler pipe until they can be discarded. The Power Steering Cooler pipe needs to be taken off from the car. The new Power Steering Cooler pipe must be put into position before installing its matching clamp. Connection of the Power Steering Cooler pipe requires attachment to the power steering gear outlet hose (4,3) while observing fastener safety protocols. Fasten and tighten the power steering gear outlet hose bracket bolt to 8 nm (71 lbs in). Position the Power Steering Cooler pipe and fasten it to the power steering fluid cooler while tightening the Power Steering Cooler pipe clamp. Severe the remaining fluid from the vehicle before reattaching and securing the right front frontwards wheelhouse liner. The power steering requires final filling before completing a bleeding process.
