Chevrolet Uplander Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on Chevrolet Uplander?
A: Start the Steering Knuckle replacement process by lifting the vehicle before securely supporting it. Start by removing the tire wheel assembly then proceed to detach both the front wheel drive shaft bearing. Break the front lower control arm ball stud loose from its position. The steering linkage and tie rod puller (J 24319-B) serves to disconnect the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle assembly. Scribe the strut to the knuckle before removing the bolts connecting the strut to the knuckle allowing removal of the knuckle from the vehicle. Before the knuckle reinstatement place it back onto the vehicle and bolt it to the knuckle using 112 n.m (83 lb ft). After reconnecting the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle you can attach the front lower control arm ball stud to the knuckle followed by installing the front wheel drive shaft bearing. Place the tire and wheel assembly back in position then lower the vehicle.
