    The first step for front side door Window Regulator replacement requires using tools that include the door module coil spring tool (J 38864). Start the procedure by taking out the front door trim panel and front door water deflector. The flat-bladed tool allows you to press retaining tabs for front door window release from the sash and the application of cloth-backed body tape above the door for holding the window while removing the regulator. Before removal of the regulator motor wiring harness it is essential to place a marker or grease pencil line on the spring then disconnect the wires. This marking will help during reinstallation. To release tension from the regulator spring use the door module coil spring tool (J 38864) before unsnapping the power Window Motor from the lock module. You must first turn the window counterbalance spring stud to the left in a counterclockwise direction and remove it from the module before taking out the regulator from the lock module. Complete installation by attaching the regulator to the lock module followed by lubricating both the motor drive gear and regulator sector teeth after installing the window counterbalance spring stud with a 1/4 turn for locking position.
