Chevrolet Uplander Door Latch Assembly Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on Chevrolet Uplander?
A: The front door latch can be replaced only after disabling the power sliding door system through PSD 15A fuse removal from the instrument panel fuse block. This action cuts off low current logic power from both LH and RH power sliding door modules thereby making them powerless. The maintenance begins with removing the sliding door inner trim panel followed by the removal of the sliding door water deflector. After viewing the sliding door lock simple screws you should pull out these attachment points and free the lock component. The loose latch enables you to disconnect its associated lock rod from the latch mechanism. The process begins with hooking the latch/lock rod to the sliding door latch after which you install the latch onto its designated position. Mount the sliding door latch screws according to the designated sequence before securing them at 10 N.m (89 lb in). Install the sliding door water deflector and the inner sliding door trim panel after making sure the rear latch lock rod stays in place within its insulator. Both power sliding door modules will operate after putting back the PSD 15A fuse into the instrument panel fuse block but they need to relearn their full open and closed positions.
