  A: A safety check must happen before Fan Shroud replacement where electric coolant fans should be inspected for problems while Fan Blade damage deserves attention. You should look for unusual vibrations and noises from your engine compartment before cleaning away debris from the cooling fan blades. You should start your work by taking out the electric cooling fan assembly and untightening the cooling fan nuts with a clockwise rotation. Detaching the cooling fans requires first removing the fan nuts before disconnecting the fans from the shroud. Remove the cooling Fan Shroud by disconnecting electrical connectors from Fan Motors then removing Fan Motor screws and extracting the fan motors from their location. The next step requires heat shield screw removal and heat shields separation before extraction of the cooling Fan Motor electrical harness from the cooling Fan Shroud. First install the cooling Fan Motor electrical harness to the cooling Fan Shroud then secure the heat shields with screws set at 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Place the fan motors onto the cooling Fan Shroud while fastening them with screws tightened to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). The cooling fans should be reinstalled onto the shroud with cooling fan nuts being tightened counterclockwise to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). The electric cooling fan assembly should be reinstalled at the last stage of the repair process.
