2002 Chevrolet Venture Fan Shroud Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fan shroud on 2002 Chevrolet Venture?
A: Before installing the new Fan Shroud, check both the electric coolant fan caution and the damaged Fan Blade caution as safety precautions. Checks for unusual noises or vibrations within the engine area should lead to blade inspection and cleaning for foreign materials. The cooling fan assembly including shroud can be removed through clockwise rotation of cooling fan nuts. Remove the shroud cooling fans by detaching the cooling fan nuts. The first step is to disconnect motor electrical wires followed by Fan Motor screw removal which enables the removal of fan motors from their position inside the cooling Fan Shroud. Heat shields must be taken out from the cooling Fan Shroud. The heat shields should be attached to the cooling Fan Shroud before installing the fan motors. You must tighten the Fan Motor screws until they reach 6 nm (53 inch lbs.) before joining the cooling Fan Motor electrical connectors. The installation of cooling fans onto the shroud requires counterclockwise rotation of fan nuts while tightening them to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). Reposition the cooling fan assembly together with its shroud for completion of the installation.
