Chevrolet Venture Thermostat Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the thermostat on Chevrolet Venture?
A: The first step for servicing and repairing the Thermostat begins with taking away the air cleaner and duct assembly. Pump out all coolant until the fluid rests below the position of the Thermostat. After detachment of the Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing you can remove the Thermostat Housing bolts but make sure to clean every trace of sealer off the bolt threads. Begin by removing the Thermostat Housing together with its gasket and then the Thermostat from the vehicle. Clean the areas where these components were installed. Position the Thermostat before installing the Thermostat Housing together with its gasket. Open the housing bolt threads with rtv sealer (GM P/N 1052366 or equivalent) before installing the housing bolts while tightening them to a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). After reconnecting the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing you should reinstall the air cleaner alongside the duct assembly. After system filling check for leaks to make needed warp repairs.
