  • Q: How to replace the thermostat on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?
    A: To change Thermostat, take out the air cleaner and duct covering which allows draining the coolant beneath the Thermostat. Secondly, take off the Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing, move away its bolts with cleaning the threads of any sealer, and then remove the Thermostat Housing and gasket. Thereafter, remove the Thermostat and clean the mating surfaces. For installation, install the Thermostat in the position, in the house Thermostat, and in the gasket. Use the rtv sealer gm p/n 1052366 or equivalant applying it to the threads of the Thermostat Housing bolts, then tightening them to 25 mm (18 ft. Lbs.). Reattach the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing, reinstall the air cleaner and duct assembly, fill the cooling system, and check for leaks with necessary repairs as well.
