Q: How to replace the Battery Sensor on 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines on GMC Sierra 1500?
A: Begin replacement of the battery current sensor by eliminating the negative Battery Cable on 4.8l, 5.3l, 6.0l, and 6.2l motors. Place tape at the battery current sensor location on the cable for installation while you remove the securing tape from the cable. Locate and take note of the mounting position of both negative Battery Cable clips. Press the negative Battery Cable wires together making note of the battery current sensor placement. Then remove the battery current sensor from its position. Connect the negative Battery Cable parts to secure the new battery current sensor with the correct markings from removal. Insert the sensor onto the cable and hold it with electric tape. Reconnect the Battery Cable clips to their original spots. Install the negative Battery Cable in its proper place.
