The replacement of hood primary and secondary latch begins after removing the grille. Use a grease pencil to draw marks at the position of the latch on the radiator support. Initiate the process by taking out both the Hood Latch support assembly and bolts securing it to the radiator support. Separate the Hood Latch cable from the latch while taking out the latch from the entire vehicle. After cable attachment to the latch you should place it at the previously marked location on the radiator support. Secure the bolts which retain the latch to the radiator support at 10nm (89lb in). Fasten the Hood Latch support through bolts which should be tightened to 10 nm (89 lb in). Examine the latch function before hood closure then inspect the latch fitting with the hood striker for alignment which may need adjustment if necessary. Finally, reinstall the grille.
