Before proceeding with the replacement begin by disconnecting the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor harness connector. Following this remove the retaining bolt securing the CKP sensor before removing it from the engine block. An inspection of the sensor O-ring must occur before installation to check for wear and leakage or cracks. If necessary a replacement should be made while oiling the new O-ring with engine oil. Insert the CKP sensor into the engine block then torque the bolt up to 10 Nm (89 lb in). The CKP sensor retaining bolt must be reinstalled while reconnecting the CKP sensor harness connector.
