GMC Jimmy Brake Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake pads on a dual piston caliper on GMC Jimmy?
A: The brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level check determines if you need to remove brake fluid from its maximum-full point to the minimum allowable level. Support the vehicle above ground and take out the caliper from its bracket while keeping the hydraulic brake hose connected for support through mechanics wires. Take out the pads from their position on the caliper bracket. Clean the caliper boot separately with denatured alcohol then place brake pads onto the caliper bracket while making sure all 4 wear sensors exist. Ock the caliper into place and afterwards lower the vehicle down. Simply push and release the brake pedal three times without engine power when the brake pads touch their mating surface. Press the brake pedal twice during a fifteen-second period till you get a solid brake response while putting brake caliper pistons and brake pads in their proper position. Finish setup by putting brake fluid to its correct amount and making new pads work smoothly.
