GMC Jimmy Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front side door handle on GMC Jimmy?
A: The process to replace the front side door outside handle starts by closing the window after which you should remove the door trim panel and the water deflector. Start by removing the access hole plug from the outside door handle screw location before detaching both the outside door lock rod and the outside door handle rod from the handle. The outside door handle requires the removal of securing screws from both door panel and door handle before extracting each part along with the retention of the lock cylinder within the handle. The installation process starts with attaching the lock cylinder to the outside door handle and following withhandle reattachment to the door. Use the provided screws to fix the outside door handle to the door panel while tightening them to 4 N.m (35 lb in). First connect the outside door lock rod and outside door handle rod and after that install the outside door handle screw access hole plug. Follow by installing the water deflector and its subsequent installation of the door trim panel.
