To replace the rear brake pads, start by checking the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir; if it is an intermediate position between maximum-full and minimum allowable level then there is no need to remove the fluid if it is higher than this position reduce it to the midway position. Lift and have the vehicle secured then take off the tire and wheel assembly. Check the operation of the caliper and using a c-clamp gradually bottom pistons of the caliper, relocating if needed. The brake caliper should be supported with heavy mechanic's wire when it has been disconnected from its mount to avoid damage to the hydraulic flexible brake hose. Pull off the caliper from the mounting bracket without removing the hydraulic brake flexible hose and inspect the caliper assembly. Take out the brake pads and anti-rattle clips from the
Brake Caliper Bracket and throw them away. For installation, you will need to install the new anti-rattle clips and pads on the Brake Caliper Bracket and then install back the brake caliper. Refit the tire and wheel-assemble lower the vehicle and using the engine make it off to gradually work the brake pedal to apposite 2/3 of the distance of its reproduction, then slowly eject. Wait for 15 seconds and repeat until a firm pedal is achieved to seat the brake caliper pistons and pads correctly. Lastly, refill the master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid up to the appropriate level and burnish the brake pads and rotors as needed.
