A: Replacing the engine oil pressure sensor or switch may require you to gather a range of tools before starting: Oil Pressure Switch Socket (J 41712). Start with removing the engine cover, then you need to disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor gauge electrical connector. Mark alignment of the sensor fitting before removal, and if needed take out the fitting. For installation, if the fitting was removed, install it and tighten to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.), never to diagonal it more than one turn for alignment. Next, install the engine oil pressure gauge sensor tightening fitting using a wrench and tightening the sensor to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) with an Oil Pressure Switch Socket (J 41712).
