GMC Safari Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Safari?
    A:
Service of the Throttle Position Sensor begins with removing the engine cover followed by disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector. First remove all mounting bolts from the tp sensor until you can extract the tp sensor and gasket from the Throttle Body assembly. Keep the tp sensor free from any liquid cleaners and solvents to prevent damage. When installing the tp sensor align its mounting holes by rotating the throttle shaft counterclockwise with the throttle valve fully closed. First position the tp sensor mounting bolts and tighten them to 2 n.m (18 lb in) then connect the tp sensor harness connector before placing back the engine cover.
