  The repair process starts with negative Battery Cable disconnect while also removing the air cleaner assembly. Write down the present position of the linear EGR Valve while indicating its necessary position should remain at 180 degrees from its original position. Remove the linear EGR Valve from the flange by unbolting it while ensuring you avoid exposure of its electrical component to liquid cleaners or solvents. The removal process of the linear EGR Valve requires you to take off both the flange gasket as well as the EGR Valve gasket surface should be cleaned before reinstall. New flange gaskets should be inserted before installing the linear EGR Valve by fastening it to its position with bolts.
