Start your Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch replacement by obtaining these essential tools: Oil Pressure Sensor Socket (J41712). Oil Pressure Sensor Socket (J41712). Lift the engine cover and disconnect the wiring harness of the oil pressure sensor as the first step. The replacement of the oil pressure sensor requires use of an Oil Pressure Sensor Socket (J41712) or an equivalent tool. You should apply GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or an equivalent sealant onto the new oil pressure sensor threads before installation. Use an Oil Pressure Sensor Socket (J41712) along with another equivalent tool to mount the oil pressure sensor afterward tightening it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). As the last step, reinstall the engine cover after connecting the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
