The replacement process of valve Rocker Arm and push rods begins by first removing the valve Rocker Arm cover and then marking, sorting, and organizing the components according to assembly needs. The first step requires extraction of valve rocker arms together with valve Rocker Arm supports and valve
Pushrods. Valuate the valve Rocker Arm together with the valve Pushrod for cleaning and inspection steps. Reassemble parts according to their original arrangement when putting the system back together. Begin with valve Pushrod installation while aligning the arrow on valve Rocker Arm supports upward and subsequently add valve Rocker Arm supports. Apply prelube gm p/n 12345501 or equivalent to all three components which are valve Pushrod socket , roller pivot along with valve stem tip. Begin bolting the piece at spots and and before and finally installing all other valve Rocker Arm fasteners. Position the exhaust crankshaft balancer so its alignment mark faces the front cover alignment tab but between 57-63 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The valve Rocker Arm assemblies need proper torquing for installation because no further adjustment of valve lash is necessary. After reinstallation place the valve Rocker Arm cover back before tightening bolts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.).
