The flat-tipped screwdriver should be used to slide the inner race forward before a pry bar can remove the seal's inner section. A flat-tipped screwdriver or small pry bar should be inserted between the Transfer Case and outer race of the seal to separate them before removing the outer part of the seal. The j 43484 (Front Output Shaft Seal Installer) along with the j 8092 (Universal Handle) should be used to mount the Transfer Case output seal before reinstalling the front propeller shaft.
