Start replacement of the stop lamp switch by disconnecting the battery negative cable after taking proper safety measures. Disconnect the electrical cable from the stop lamp switch and the retainer. Remove the stop lamp switch assembly together with the brake pedal Pushrod to the power Brake Booster. Detach the stop lamp switch from its position on the power Brake Booster Pushrod. Mount the stop lamp switch over the power Brake Booster Pushrod then insert the switch plus Pushrod onto the brake pedal pin before using the brake switch retainer to fasten the device. You must put back the Battery Cable connection before reattaching the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch.
