Stoplamp Switch

The first step to change the stop lamp switch is to take out the left sound insulator. First remove the brake pedal pin Pushrod retainer before taking off the stop lamp switch with its attached Pushrod from the brake pedal pin. Unplug the stop lamp switch electrical connector and take the switch out of the vehicle. After connecting the electrical connector to the switch install it onto the Pushrod then place the assembly onto the brake pedal pin. Fasten the Pushrod retainer to the brake pedal pin until it clicks into position then put back the left sound insulator.

Start replacement of the stop lamp switch by disconnecting the battery negative cable and following battery disconnect procedures. To access the switch you must disconnect both its electrical connection and pull the Pushrod to the power Brake Booster from the brake pedal pin including the stop lamp switch. Remove the pressure rod connection from the stop lamp switch to the Brake Booster. You should install the stop lamp switch by placing it onto the Pushrod which connects to the Brake Booster. Then attach the stop lamp switch with its Pushrod to the brake pedal pin. Align the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch and complete the process by joining the negative Battery Cable.

Begin replacement of the stop lamp switch by disconnecting the negative cable of the battery while strictly adhering to the battery negative cable disconnect/connect procedure and battery disconnect caution in service precautions. Proceed with disconnecting the electrical connector from the stop lamp switch followed by removing the brake pedal pin retainer and extracting both the stop lamp switch and the Pushrod towards the power Brake Booster from the pedal pin. Detach the power Brake Booster Pushrod from the stop lamp switch. During installation first snap the stop lamp switch to the power Brake Booster Pushrod before installing the brake switch on the pedal pin along with the Pushrod by using the brake switch retainer to secure it. Connect the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch before reattaching the battery negative cable.

Disconnect both the electrical connector and pushrod retaining clip for stop lamp switch accessibility before taking out the switch. To install the stop lamp switch you must put it in first, add the pushrod retaining clip next and end with connecting the electrical connector to the switch.

The steps for replacing the stoplamp switch include reattaching the electrical connection to it after installing both the stoplamp switch and the pushrod retaining clip.

Pull out the retaining clip from the brake pedal pin (1) to unfasten the brake switch before taking the brake switch off the brake pedal pin. Following that, disconnect the brake switch from the power source and place it aside. Connect the electrical connector to the brake switch in your vehicle when installing the unit. Attach the brake switch to the brake pedal pin and then snap the retaining clip over the brake pedal.

The Pushrod retainer should be detached from the brake pedal pin before extracting the stop lamp switch and Pushrod from the pedal pin. Irreplace the electrical connector from the stop lamp switch before you take out the switch from the car. Connect the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch before placing the switch on the Pushrod and installing the whole assembly onto the brake pedal pin. Reinstall the brake pedal pin by snappin the Pushrod retainer back in place followed by installing the left sound insulator.

Detach the Pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin before pulling out the stop lamp switch and Pushrod from their positions. Set the stop lamp switch aside by removing its electrical connector. First plug the electrical cable into the stop lamp switch then adjust the switch onto the Pushrod before installing it on the brake pedal pin. Press the Pushrod retainer onto the brake pedal pin then let it snap in place before placing back the left sound insulator.

Start the replacement of the cruise release switch by disconnecting the electrical connector attached to it. First remove the electrical connector from the cruise release switch before removing the switch from the brake pedal bracket by rotating it counterclockwise until it pulls free from the retainer. Finally push the locking tabs inward to release the retainer. Individuals should begin by attaching the electrical connector to the cruise release switch and push the cruise release switch retainer into the brake pedal bracket until all locking tabs are fully engaged.

Start replacement of the stop lamp switch by disconnecting the battery negative cable after taking proper safety measures. Disconnect the electrical cable from the stop lamp switch and the retainer. Remove the stop lamp switch assembly together with the brake pedal Pushrod to the power Brake Booster. Detach the stop lamp switch from its position on the power Brake Booster Pushrod. Mount the stop lamp switch over the power Brake Booster Pushrod then insert the switch plus Pushrod onto the brake pedal pin before using the brake switch retainer to fasten the device. You must put back the Battery Cable connection before reattaching the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch.

Remove the pushrod retaining clip and take out the stop lamp switch.

Connect the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the stop lamp switch.

Take off the brake switch from the brake pedal pin.

Take off the brake switch from the brake pedal pin.

Install the stop lamp switch.

Secure the pushrod retainer onto the brake pedal pin until it snaps into place.

Install the pushrod retainer onto the brake pedal pin, ensuring it snaps into place.

Connect the electrical connector to the stop lamp switch.

Remove the retainer from the brake pedal pin.
