Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on GMC Savana 2500?
A: To replace the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve, first you unfasten the air cleaner assembly. Push on the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fitting retainer, and remove the evap pipe from the evap purge solenoid . Then unplug the evap purge solenoid electrical connector, after that remove the evap purge solenoid mount bolt, and pull out evap purge solenoid and insulator from the engine. To install, mount the insulator on the evap canister purge valve and mount the valve onto the engine. Wrench on the evap canister purge valve mount bolt and tighten it to 10.5 nm (93 lb in). The next step is to link the evap pipe to the evap canister purge valve then coupled the electric connector. Last, reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
