How to replace the lower control arm on a 4WD on GMC Sierra 3500?

To replace the lower Control Arm on a 4wd vehicle, one should firstly lift and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel. Next, you remove the stabilizer shaft links from the lower Control Arm; then, the shock absorber lower nut and bolt. Take out the torsions and provide the wheel drive shaft. Next, remove the lower ball joint retaining nut and lower ball joint stud and Steering Knuckle bushing with j 43631 ball joint remover (J 43631) and j 45851 ball joint separator protector adapters (J 45851). Proceed to disconnect nuts of the lower Control Arm with Control Arm bolts and washers (15-series), followed by the lower Control Arm nuts, washers (25/35-series) and the lower Control Arm. For installation, locate the new lower Control Arm and attach it using the 15-series bolts, 25/35-series bolts, washers with shoulder to be next to the arm. Cross-thread the retaining nuts and tighten them to 175 nm (129 ft. Lbs.) after reinstalling the wheel drive shaft, and then connect the lower ball joint stud into the Steering Knuckle while tightening with a retaining nut to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the torsion bars, shock absorber lower nut and bolt along with the stabilizer shaft links at the lower Control Arm. Finally adjust and realign the vehicle as needed and take off the safety stands, lower the vehicle and install the tire and wheel again.
