GMC Sierra 3500 Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the wiper motor on GMC Sierra 3500?
A: Begin wiper motor replacement by taking off the wiper arms together with the air inlet grille panel. Unscrew the four bolts holding the reinforcement panel while you also remove it from its place. Following that disconnect the electric connector from the wiper motor. Unfasten and later remove the two wiper transmission bolts to remove the assembly from the vehicle. Put the wiper motor crank arm drive link aside by using the Wiper Transmission Separator J 39232 and then remove the two bolts that hold the motor in place to extract it from the wiper transmission. Install the wiper motor on the wiper transmission assembly then fasten the two bolts while tightening them to 8 N.m (71 lb in). Use the Wiper Transmission Installer to assemble the drive link on the wiper motor crank arm before putting back the wiper transmission into the vehicle. Seal it with two bolts at 9 N.m (80 lb in). Set the electrical connector back to the wiper motor and fit the reinforcement panel with four bolts at 9 N.m of torque. Replace the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms afterward. Verify that the wipers are working correctly by activating them.
