How to replace the tailgate handle on the utility end gate on GMC Sonoma?

You must remove two screws from the handle grip and loosen the trim panel to access the liftgate handle on the utility tailgate. Unfasten the liftgate handle rod retainer followed by disconnecting the bolts (Wrench) that secure the liftgate outside handle. Pull the outer handle from the liftgate. Place the liftgate outside handle on the gate first then fasten the bolts and tighten them to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Thread the liftgate handle rod through the liftgate handle before settling it down and locking the retainer. Put back the liftgate trim panel.
