The replacement process for 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l power steering pumps starts by removing the power steering pulley before raising the vehicle. You need to unfasten oil pan skid plate bolts together with the skid plate from its location before placing a drain pan below. Lower the vehicle to install the power steering pressure hose from the pump while performing the pump replacement under the vehicle.
