Begin by taking off the lower striker bolt then loosen the upper bolt so the striker together with any installed spacer can rotate away from the lower hole. The first step when installing the lower striker bolt should be to tighten it enough to keep the striker backing plate stable. Proceed by removing the upper striker bolt after which you must remove the spacer when one is present for replacement of the striker. Start by mounting the striker followed by the spacer when present and then install the upper striker bolt. The installer should rotate the lower striker bolt until it aligns its upper threaded hole with the appropriate position. You must remove the lower bolt while rotating the striker in combination with the spacer (if present) until the lower threaded hole within the striker backing plate lines up correctly. Secure the striker bolts with a torque value of 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
