How to replace the body-mounted rear door striker on GMC Yukon XL 1500?

Begin the replacement of the body-mounted rear door striker by removing the upper garnish trim panel followed by the striker screws before taking out the striker itself. Install the striker to the vehicle according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions by inserting striker screws and torquing each screw to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) before reattaching the upper garnish trim panel.
