How to replace the front side door hinge on the body side on GMC Yukon XL 1500?

Begin the front side door hinge body side replacement by first removing every adjacent component before cutting off unnecessary sealer and marking the hinge pillar where the hinge will be mounted. You should apply 100 grit or finer sandpaper along with your hand to sand the existing hinge until you find all four weld points that connect it to the pillar while punching the middle of each weld for easier drilling. First, mark the center of each weld on the original hinge but do not drill into the hinge pillar. Afterward, use a 13 mm (1/2 in) rotabroach hole saw or equivalent to drill holes only through the hinge base into the punch marks. The service hinge requires complete removal while you use a chisel to uncover the pillar surface until it lies evenly with the service hinge. The pillar should receive repairs after drilling and hinge removal before placing the service hinge inside the scribe marks while simultaneously punching centers at each stud position on the pillar. Set the drill at exact size to make a 3 mm (1/8 in) pilot hole at center punch locations before creating an 11.5 mm (29/64 in) hole for the studs at their pilot points. All exposed metal surfaces need cleaning as well as preparation for anti-corrosion primer application before inserting fish wire (GM P/N 15017229) into the hinge and through the conduit hole of the pillar. Install stud (GM P/N 15017230) into the wire end and pull it into position with the hinge while the fish wire remains in the wire end. Install one more pillar stud a single time by feeding the providednuts (GM P/N 11516746) through the pillar after fitting the stud at its designated locations. Fully apply full-bodied caulk over the complete hinge mounting surfaces before securing each service nut. Use the supplied nuts to mount the hinge onto the pillar before torquing the nuts to 25N.m (18 lb ft). The technician will clean all required surfaces for refinishing work before applying sealants and subsequently repairing or repainting these surfaces as needed before aligning and installing all relative parts.
