GMC Yukon XL 1500 Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Yukon XL 1500?
A: Before repairing or servicing the Throttle Position Sensor start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Start by taking out the generator then disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. The tp attaching screws must be removed so you can disconnect the tp sensor along with its seal ring. Before installing the tp sensor place its o-ring seal onto the component then position the sensor onto the Throttle Body with the valve sealed while maintaining tp sensor lever alignment to the throttle shaft drive lever. Pull down the tp sensor attaching screws then set their torque to 2 n.m (18 lb in). After connecting the tp sensor electrical connector, reinstall the generator and complete the installation with negative Battery Cable reconstruction.
