    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a air conditioning system on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then recovering the refrigerant before replacing the accumulator. The system requires the removal of electrical connections followed by pressure cycling switch extraction. The dual o-ring tube separator tool (J 38042) serves to disconnect both the accumulator from the Evaporator while allowing the hose assembly to separate from the accumulator. First cap all open connections while you replace the o-ring seals, accumulator bracket screw, and accumulator with its associated upper and lower accumulator insulators. Installation begins with accumulator insulator placement followed by accumulator installation where you should add oil if replacing the accumulator. Fasten the accumulator bracket screw using 6 n.m (53 lb in) of torques. The new o-ring seals require application of 525 viscosity refrigerant oil before installation. First connect the Evaporator to the accumulator before tightening the assembly to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Next, connect the hose assembly to the accumulator. Reinstall the pressure cycling switch along with its essential electrical connections followed by negative Battery Cable reattachment. The system needs charging afterward you should check for any leaks.

    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator in an A/C system on GMC C2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the accumulator begins with a recovery of all refrigerant from the system. Start by removing the electrical connector from the a/c low pressure switch along with the compressor hose fitting from the accumulator. The installation sequence begins by removing the evaporator fitting's nut and then the accumulator bracket nut from the retaining stud before taking out the accumulator. First disconnect the retaining bracket bolt then take off the retaining bracket from the accumulator before you remove the o-ring seals. Installation begins with new o-ring seals followed by retaining bracket attachment to the accumulator while installing the retaining bracket bolt then tightening the accumulator bracket bolt to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the accumulator first followed by the accumulator bracket nut with a torque setting at 9 n.m and 80 lb in. Install the nut by bringing it to the evaporator fitting before adjusting torque to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) and finally install the compressor hose fitting and electrical connector to the a/c low pressure switch. The system requires addition of refrigerant as you conduct a j 39400-a leak test on all fittings of repaired system components.
