    Q:
How to service and repair the wiper arm on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by setting the wipers in the park position then disconnect the washer hose from the air inlet grille panel to begin servicing the Wiper Arm. First remove the Wiper Arm nut cover then take out the Wiper Arm nut. Use Wiper Arm puller (J 39822) to detach the Wiper Arm from pivot shaft then remove arm from shaft. Use a finger to flex the Wiper Blade retaining clip while slowly pulling the blade off the Wiper Arm hook through the Wiper Blade's opening. To install the Wiper Blade simply place the arm hook through its opening and slide it onto the blade retaining clip until it clicks into position. Start by setting the wipers to park to shield against damage during the procedure. Activate the wiper system followed by moving the wiper control switch to the off position. Clean the wiper transmission pivot shaft knurls with a wire brush before installing the Wiper Arm onto the pivot shaft, aligning the Wiper Blade with the locating marks on the windshield, or centering the blades at the specified distances: passenger and driver-side blades should be spaced at 112.1 millimeters (4.41 inches) and 79.6 millimeters (3.13 inches). Ket the Wiper Arm pivot shaft with its installed nut to achieve 32nm of torque (4lbft) before you apply the protective covering. Apply windshield washer solvent to the washer hose to make fitting it onto the air inlet grille panel easier before tapping it to the fitting and checking wiper and washer operation.
