Headlamp Bulb

Begin bulb replacement of the headlamp by switching off the lamp and waiting for it to cool down. Handle the bulb strictly at the base while wearing protective eyewear because contact with the glass should be avoided along with moisture and dirt sources. Before unscrewing the headlamp retainer pins you should first open the hood. To remove the headlamp assembly you should pull it out to reach the electrical connector where you must then disconnect it. Crucially rotate the bulb to the left until it comes out freely. Install new bulbs following standard procedure where high beam bulbs replace others with matching characteristics (red gasket) and low beam bulbs should get exchanged with corresponding bulbs (gray tip and yellow gasket). Following installation of the new bulb by a counterclockwise twist to secure it in place you must reconnect the electrical connector and reposition the headlamp assembly. After securing the retainer pins through rotation until locked position it is time to perform an operation checkup. Discard the used bulb safely while storing all halogen bulbs where children cannot access them.

Replacing either the headlamp assembly or headlamp bulb (HID) requires you to extract the front grille followed by removing headlamp retainer pins and then drawing out the headlamp assembly in order to disconnect the electrical connector. Access to the headlamp bulbs becomes possible by first removing the rubber cups. Begin by installing the new bulbs before putting on the rubber cups for installation. The electrical connector ties to the lamp assembly first while replacing the lamp assembly back to its position in the vehicle by using headlamp assembly retainer pins before securing the front grille. Be vigilant about the high voltage and current operations of the high intensity discharge system since opening the ballast or arc tube assembly or probing between electrical connectors causes severe shocks and burns. Maintain safe distances between the arc tube and the headlamp housing as well as bulb shield when uninstalling or installing to prevent any damage from occurring.

The bulb replacement process starts with turning off the lamp switch while permitting the bulb to cool down. Eye protection should always be worn while you should touch the bulb base only with care because contact with glass or dirt or water must be avoided. After contact with moisture or touching, it is imperative to use alcohol or a suitable degreaser to clean the bulb before wiping it dry. Begin by turning the hood open to access the headlamp retainer pins before properly rotating them before bulb removal. To get to the electrical connector a person should pull out the headlamp assembly and then disconnect the connector. Twist the bulb to the left side in order to remove it. Replacement of high beam bulbs must use another high beam bulb as well as replacement of low beam bulbs with another low beam bulb (with gray tips and yellow gaskets). Illuminate the new bulb by setting its direction clockwise while you secure it in position followed by connector reattachment before you secure the headlamp assembly. Secure the headlamp retainer pins last after their installation.

Ensure the lamp switch is turned off and allow the bulb to cool.

Inspect the operation of the headlamp.

Remove the rubber cups to gain access to the headlamp bulbs and take out the bulbs.
