    The replacement process for the Hood Primary Latch Cable starts by using a rod to trigger the primary latch tab on the left side of the lock assembly followed by lifting the hood. A flat-blade tool should be inserted into the clip to pull the cable out of the primary latch then gently manipulate the cable grommet from the lock flange. To access the cable you must eliminate the upper radiator grille and shift it forward to reach the cable connection between the radiator support and wheelhouse retaining clips. Use a maintenance tool to lightly loosen the two bolts beneath the instrument panel before pushing the cable and grommet through the engine compartment opening toward the cab interior. Installation starts by putting the cable through the driver's side cowl before gently pushing both cable and grommet into the engine bay. After securing the hood release handle's bottom instrument panel bolts with 2 screws begin sliding the grommet inside of the engine compartment. Then direct the cable through the retaining clips towards the radiator support. Reattach the upper radiator grille along with connecting the cable to the primary latch before you lower down the hood.

You should start by removing the cable handle beneath the instrument panel (IP) and use needle nose pliers to disconnect the cable end from the handle while pressing its tabs before lifting the cable from the lock. Rotate the Hood Latch assembly cable toward the cable handle through the cowl hole by disconnecting it from the retainer clips using needle nose pliers to lift its tabs from the lock. The cable installation requires users to thread the new cable towards the front of the vehicle through the cowl hole while verifying that the grommet stays properly positioned. Connect the cable end to the latch assembly while fixing the cable into the retainer clips before attaching the cable end to the cable handle. Fasten the cable handle beneath the ip using tools to tighten the cable handle nut at 11 n.m (97 lb in). Installation of the left hinge pillar trim panel should be followed by closing the hood.
