    Q:
How to overhaul the rear brake calipers on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting the overhaul of rear brake caliper, it will be needed to remove it from the transport. Next, apply low pressure compressed air through the fluid inlet hole to draw the Brake Caliper Piston from the caliper others through the fluid inlet hole. Take off the piston dust boot seal from seal counterbore are located inside the caliper using a small wood or plastic tool and throw away after that the piston seal from boom caliper. Then, remove the bleeder valve and cap from the caliper. One should avoid using abrasives for cleaning the Brake Caliper Piston. Clean the counterbore on the Brake Caliper Piston bore and seal as well as the Brake Caliper Piston with the use of denatured alcohol or an alternative. Dry these components with non lubricated denied air and check the caliper bore for any cracks, scoring and pitting, rust and corrosions. If any light rust or corrosion is detected, try to remove it using fine emery paper; otherwise, replace the caliper assembly. For any cracks, scoring, pitting or any excessive corrosion, the caliper assembly also has to be replaced. Check the chrome plating on the caliper piston for the same and replace the same. To install, apply delco supreme 11 (GMP/N12377967), or equivalent dot-3 brake fluid from a clean, sealed container, and push the new piston seal into the caliper bore. Next, slide the caliper piston into the bore and cover it with the new piston dust boot seal. Fit a dust boot seal with a seal installer tool or equivalent in order to fully seat the dust boot seal for a specified counterbore diameter of 38.1 mm (1.50 inch), or a piston bore diameter of 48.0 mm (1.89 inch). Lastly, reinstall the bleeder valve and cap on the caliper, but tighten the valve well, and mount the rear brake caliper onto the niche.

    Q:
How to replace the rear brake calipers bracket on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the rear Brake Caliper Bracket, first, remove the caliper from the mounting bracket and then secure it with heavy mechanics wire or some other tool while still having the hydraulic brake flexible hose attached. Second, uninstall the rear brake pads, then proceed to uninstall the caliper bracket bolts, before finally removing the caliper bracket. Iparameters prior to installation should be cleaned and visually inspected to ensure the proper clamp load using the threads of the caliper bracket bolts as well as the mounting holes of the knuckle. Threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or other should be applied to Brake Caliper Bracket bolt threads. Install the caliper bracket using bracket bolts and tighten them to 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.). At last, put on the rear brake pads and the caliper.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair Brake Calipers on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must follow braking dust safety measures and keep the flex hose connected while supporting the brake caliper during the process of replacing the rear Brake Caliper Bracket. Remove the caliper from its mounting bracket then support it using heavy mechanics wire or suitable alternative. Prolonging the hydraulic brake flexible hose installation is unnecessary. The process starts with removing the rear brake pads and continues with the removal of caliper bracket bolts and caliper bracket . It is vital to perform thread cleaning on caliper bracket bolts as well as to clean the mounting holes in the knuckle for achieving correct clamp force. Use threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) and its equivalent to secure the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts threads. The caliper bracket needs to be mounted with its bracket bolts and tightened to 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.). Place the rear brake pads on and finish by installing the caliper.

    Q:
How to Replace Rear Brake Calipers and Brackets on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
First support the brake caliper using mechanical wire or an equivalent tool while it remains disconnected from its mount but the hydraulic flexible brake hose stays connected since operating otherwise will potentially cause hose damage and fluid leakage. Start the process by removing the caliper from its mounting bracket while maintaining hydraulic brake flexible hose connection. Later remove the current brake pads. Proceed by taking out both caliper bracket bolts followed by the caliper bracket. The installation process starts by scrubbing and examining the caliper bracket bolt threads and the knuckle mounting holes to make certain that clamp force will be adequate. Use threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to treat the threads of caliper bracket bolts before installing the bracket using these bolts which should be torqued to 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.). The last step involves the installation of rear brake pads followed by the caliper.
