    Q:
How to replace the rear brake calipers (JL9-J55) on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the rear brake caliper (JL9-J55) check the fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir. if it is in the middle from the maximum point-full, and the minimum level that is mandatory, do nothing but if it is more, bring it to the middle point. Lift and support the vehicle, then apply and pull off the tire and wheel assembly. Then remove the brake caliper inlet fitting bolt and brake hose from the caliper, discarding the two copper brake hose gaskets that can be stuck to the caliper or hose end. Plug the openings in brake caliper, and hose to avoid loss and contamination of the fluid before you remove brake, caliper guide pin bolts, and remove it from the mounting bracket. Perform inspection on the caliper slide boots and replace it if it's damaged; in this case, align the brake caliper with the mounting bracket and fix the guide pin bolts tightening it at 31 N.m (23 lb ft). Pull off the plugs from the brake caliper outlet hose and hose, before placing NEW copper brake hose gaskets onto the gaskets and the brake caliper inlet-bolt to the brake hose. Assemble the brake hose and inlet fitting bolt to the caliper, and apply the bolt's torque of 45 N.m (33 lb ft), and bleed hydraulic brake system, and install the tire and wheel assembly and lower the vehicle.
