The first step involved in Fan Clutch replacement consists of upper Fan Shroud removal. When fixing the fan assembly you should match up the yellow paint marks between the Fan Clutch hub and the Water Pump hub. To extract the Fan Clutch from the coolant pump begin by using the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240). Use j 41240-1 as an insertion into the Water Pump holes before employing j 41240-2 to turn the Fan Clutch nut in a counter-clockwise direction with steady pressure applied to j 41240-1. Begin by removing the fan with its clutch as one piece before removing the Fan Clutch mounting bolts which enables you to separate the fan from the clutch. Start by securing the fan to Fan Clutch mounting bolts and firmly tighten them to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Follow these actions to install the fan and Fan Clutch assembly to the coolant pump pulley by using the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240) then reinstall the upper Fan Shroud.

Start the procedure to service and repair the Fan Clutch by taking out the upper Fan Shroud. The maintenance of a balanced fan assembly requires the yellow paint mark on Fan Clutch hub to match the yellow paint mark on Water Pump hub. The Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240) should be utilized to extract the Fan Clutch from the coolant pump. The service requires placing the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240-1) through Water Pump access holes and supporting it tightly to turn the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240-2) clockwise in opposite direction. First, pull out the fan assembly with its clutch unit before unfastening and separating the fan bolts from the clutch piece. The first step for installation is to mount the fan to Fan Clutch bolts before tightening them to 33nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the fan along with its clutch assembly onto the coolant pump pulley using the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240) until completion. Then put back the upper Fan Shroud.

The Fan Clutch replacement process should begin with eliminating the upper Fan Shroud. The maintenance of a balanced fan assembly requires a proper alignment of the yellow paint marks on the Fan Clutch hub and the Water Pump hub. You can remove the Fan Clutch from the coolant pump by using Fan Clutch wrench tool j 41240. Install the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240-1) at each Water Pump hole entry while firmly gripping (J 41240-1) against the Fan Clutch using (J 41240-2) to turn in a counterclockwise direction. The fan together with its clutch must be removed as one assembly before you can remove its Fan Clutch mounting bolts and separate both parts. Start the procedure by placing the fan onto mounting bolts of the Fan Clutch then secure the bolts to 33 nm torque (24 ft. Lbs.). You will install both fan components to the coolant pump pulley with the Fan Clutch wrench (J 41240) before putting the upper Fan Shroud back in place.

Start the Fan Clutch replacement process by taking away the upper Fan Shroud. Begin by installing the Fan Clutch wrench (J 46406) onto the Water Pump to extract the Fan Clutch in a counterclockwise rotation. Proceed with removing the Fan Clutch assembly afterward. You must detach the mounting bolts of the Fan Blade before you can eliminate the Fan Blade from its location on the Fan Clutch. When installing the Fan Blade it needs to be fastened into the Fan Clutch by following instructions from the fastener notice in service precautions. Fits the Fan Blade mounting bolts before tightening them to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Attach the Fan Clutch assembly to the Water Pump with the Fan Clutch wrench (J 46406) while securing it to 56 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Rejoin the upper Fan Shroud as the last step.
