    The first task to replace the Fan Clutch requires separating the upper Fan Shroud from the system. Apply the Fan Clutch wrench (J 46406) to withdraw the Fan Clutch from the Water Pump by turning it counterclockwise. You should remove the Fan Clutch assembly before you can take out the Fan Blade mounting bolts and detach the Fan Blade from the Fan Clutch. Attaching the Fan Blade onto the Fan Clutch requires application of the Fan Blade mounting bolts before tightening them to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). The Fan Clutch assembly requires installation on the Water Pump using the Fan Clutch wrench (J 46406) while tightening it to 56 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Retrofit the upper Fan Shroud as the last step.

    Begin the replacement of the Fan Clutch by taking out the upper Fan Shroud first. Use the Fan Clutch wrench j 46406 to detach the Fan Clutch from the Water Pump by turning it counterclockwise until you can remove the whole Fan Clutch assembly from the vehicle. You should remove the Fan Blade from the Fan Clutch by taking off the mounting bolts which secure it. Start installing the Fan Clutch through blade fan attachment to the clutch unit while observing and implementing fastener notice in service precautions requirements. Mount the Fan Blade bolts at 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) torque values. To mount the Fan Clutch assembly to the Water Pump, use the Fan Clutch wrench (J 46406) according to manufacturer specifications and achieve 56 nm (40 ft. Lbs.) torque. Install the upper Fan Shroud last in the process.
