    Q:
How to Properly Handle the Brake Master Cylinder Replacement Process on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step involves disconnecting power from the brake fluid sensor and brake lines before removing the Brake Master Cylinder. Insert rubber caps over brake pipe ends to seal the open ports. Put plugs on exposed brake ends before loosening the master cylinder nuts and removing the unit from the vehicle while letting all brake fluid drain from the reservoir. Before connecting the master cylinder to the vacuum Brake Booster, always bench bleed the system and then install both mounting nuts tight to 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Fasten brake pipe connections to the master cylinder using 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque when the vehicle has abs system but only 27 n.m (20 lb ft) for the front brake fittings and 25 n.m (18 lb ft) for the rear fittings without abs. Join the electrical connector back to the brake fluid sensor while letting brake fluid flow through the system.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
To repair the Brake Master Cylinder start by locking the mounting flange in a bench vise to reach the base of the main Piston. Install suitable connectors for hose attachment at the master cylinder outlets by removing both cap and diaphragm. Connect clear hoses to these fittings and feed them into the master cylinder reservoir. Put delco supreme 11 brake fluid (GM P/N 12377967 or equivalent DOT-3) into the reservoir until it reaches half its capacity while keeping both hose ends fully underwater from a sealed container. Depress and release the primary Piston 1 inch with a smooth tool several times to check fluid flow from the ports. Your force to push down the primary Piston will grow since the Piston travels a shorter distance when air leaves both pistons. Repeat the method until the fluid streams out naturally without air bubbles appearing. To finish the calibration insert the transparent hoses into the reservoir then put back the reservoir cap and diaphragm. Disconnect the fittings with the hoses from both ports before removing the master cylinder from the vise while keeping it covered by a clean shop cloth to avoid leaks.

    Q:
How to replace the brake master cylinder on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The primary step to replace the Brake Master Cylinder involves disconnecting power connections from the brake fluid sensor and brake lines before removing from the master cylinder. Use rubber caps to seal exposed brake pipe ends so brake fluid stays inside and remains sterile. Then remove the mounting nuts from the master cylinder and carry it out of the vehicle with draining of all brake fluid from the reservoir. Before mounting the master cylinder to the vacuum Brake Booster you need to bench bleed it and fasten the master cylinder mounting nuts to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Install the brake pipes on the master cylinder then tighten the fitting bolts to 30 nm for abs systems and 27 nm for front brake pipes and 25 nm for the rear brake pipes without abs. Reattach the electrical connector to the brake fluid sensor then perform a brake fluid bleeding process.

    Q:
How to replace the brake master cylinder on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start Brake Master Cylinder replacement work by unplugging the electrical connection from the Brake Fluid Level Sensor. Before working on the master cylinder of a non abs 3.4l impala model remove the mounting bracket. After breaking the vacuum brake connections, install rubber caps over open brake pipe fittings to stop brake fluid from escaping and getting polluted. Cut power to the brake fluid sensor then unfasten the mounting nuts from the master cylinder to withdraw it from the car. Empty all brake fluid out of the master cylinder reservoir tank. Before attaching the vacuum Brake Booster place the master cylinder on a bench and pump brake fluid through it. Then install the master cylinder while mounting its nuts tightly to 25 nm torque. Insert the brake pipes into the master cylinder and tighten brake pipe connections to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Mount the bracket to the master cylinder if needed and restore electric connection to the brake fluid sensor before finishing brake system bleeding.
