    Q:
How to replace the wheel cylinder on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start replacement of the Wheel Cylinder by inserting the park brake lever pin then securely lift and position the vehicle before work. Pull off the tire and wheel before taking away the back Brake Drum and shoes together. Detach the brake pipe from the rear brake cylinder and let out the retaining bolts in order to extract the rear brake cylinder. Connect the rear brake cylinder to the vehicle while ensuring to install its retaining bolts before securely tightening them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Attach the brake cylinder end of the pipe to the rear brake unit and squeeze it to 17 nm torque (13 ft. Lbs. Torque). Reinstall the tire and wheel after taking away the park brake lever pin. Liquid the brake hoses and adjust both rear brake pads according to specification along with the parking brake mechanism. Put the vehicle on ground level then apply the Brake Pedal 2/3 of its full stroke without starting the engine. Slowly release the pedal afterwards. Press the Brake Pedal twice for 15 seconds each time to let the brake components settle properly into their seats.
