Control Module

Start by elevating the vehicle and unplug the 2 ABS Control Module electrical connectors which are found on its side. A long flat-bladed screwdriver releases the lock tab found on the ABS Control Module electrical connector which faces its back end. Wash the TORX(r) screw heads before installing the T 25-TORX(r) bit and replace both ABS Control Module and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) if T 25-TORX(r) screws become unusable. Insert a T 25-TORX(r) bit to remove the 4 mounting screws while applying minimum force unless stated otherwise but never apply pressure to the ABS Control Module or BPMV. After removal you should extract the ABS Control Module that was in the BPMV position. The installation process demands using fresh mounting screws instead of reusing the old ones while prohibiting the employment of RTV or any sealants on the ABS Control Module gasket or mating surfaces. Refer to the Component Fastener Tightening Notice to guide the installation of the ABS Control Module on the BPMV. From the front, secure the ABS Control Module with four new T-25 TORX(r) screws until they reach 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) torque set in an X-pattern. You should restore the electrical connections situated on both sides of the ABS Control Module and the one located at its rear. Conclude with lowering the vehicle while performing tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function.

Replace both the EBCM and the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
