    Q:
How to service and repair the Fuel Level Sensor on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service process for the Fuel Level Sensor begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. First empty the fuel system pressure while draining the Fuel Tank contents. Begin by removing both the Fuel Tank together with the fuel sender assembly. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector first before removing the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector retaining clip which allows disconnecting the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector from underneath the fuel sender cover. Disengage the Fuel Level Sensor retaining clip before you squeeze its locking tangs and ease out the sensor. The first step for installation involves installing the Fuel Level Sensor and fastening it with its retaining clip. Connect the electrical connector to the Fuel Level Sensor before establishing its retaining clip. Complete the resistance testing of the fuel pump electrical connector before installing the fuel sender assembly followed by the Fuel Tank. After refilling the Fuel Tank you should install the fuel filler cap before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Complete the inspection by activating the ignition for two seconds then waiting for ten seconds before activating it again to verify that no fuel leaks occur.
