Start by removing the generator rear brace stud from the generator then remove the generator rear brace nut from the engine stud on the engine Intake Manifold and finally detach the generator rear brace. First secure the generator rear brace to both generator and engine Intake Manifold engine stud before loosely attaching the generator rear brace stud to the generator body. Install the generator rear brace nut onto the engine stud on the Intake Manifold with a torque action of 25 n.m (18 lb ft) followed by generator rear brace study torque at 25 n.m (18 lb ft).

Before servicing the Alternator you must start by removing three components in this order: the generator front brace nut at the engine Intake Manifold followed by the generator bolt and subsequent removal of the generator front brace assembly. When installing position the generator front brace assembly onto generator and engine stud of engine Intake Manifold while observing the fastener notice in service precautions. The generator bolt requires tightening to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) before you proceed to install the generator front brace nut to the engine Intake Manifold and tighten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft).

Disconnect the battery negative cable.

Position the generator to the engine, install the battery (positive) lead and the generator output BAT terminal nut, tightening it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Position the generator to the engine.

Position the generator to the engine and connect the electrical connector. If equipped with the Bosch NCB1 (KG7) 125 ampere generator, ensure the spacer is in place.

Tighten the generator pivot bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft), then tighten generator bolt 1 to 50 N.m (37 lb ft), and finally tighten generator bolt 2 to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

Reconnect the electrical connector to the generator.
