    Before replacing the window crank handles you need to close the window. Use the Door Handle Clip Remover tool J 9886-01 to disconnect the handle from its base by placing the device between the bits near the bearing plate and pushing it against the handle direction. Once you disconnect the clip, take out the handle from the door and then remove the window crank handles plus the bearing plate. First put the bearing plate on the door. After that install the window crank handles. After attaching the retaining clip onto the handle you can place the handle on the window regulator shaft facing forward. After putting the handle in place push down firmly to activate the clip connection with the shaft.

Insert the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) tool between handle and bearing plate and point it towards the handle. Push the tool until the clip disconnects from the plate. You can remove the handle through the door by first disengaging the clip then pulling out the handle. Remove the window regulator and bearing plate with the handle after that. Begin by fixing the bearing plate onto the door surface then secure the window crank handle. Fit the retaining clip to the handle first before connecting the handle to the window regulator shaft which should face forward when installed in the door. Push the handle forward to connect the clip with the shaft.

    Before beginning work on the door window regulator crank handles you need to shut the window. Set the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) between crank handle and bearing plate. Aim it at the crank handle before pushing the device to release the retainer clip. Take out the crank handle after removing the door clip then take off the regulator crank handle and bearing plate. First put the bearing plate on the door and after that put in the window regulator crank handle. Set the retaining clip in place on the crank handle and push it onto the window regulator shaft such that the crank handle points forward. After inserting the crank handle, press down on the crank handle to connect the clip with the shaft.
